Prayer for the peaceful world through puppetry and storytelling

Featuring four stories about humans and animals who live sometimes uglily and covetously, and sometimes beautifully and ephemerally, in such great nature, Kaneko Iwasaki (Haiyu-za Theater Company) tells the stories using fragile origami-paper puppets to question why humans can never stop fighting and to seek for the hope beyond the question.

The stories include the titles “Faithful Elephants”, “Yamanashi” and “Wildcat and the Acorns” by Kenji Miyazawa, and “The Bush of Wild Roses” by Mimei Ogawa.

“Faithful Elephants” is based on the true story about the order to kill fierce animals at zoos during the WWII and the three elephants which were objects to the order.
